The 90/180 rule
Any 180 days may hold at most 90 days in the Schengen area, counted across all 29 member countries. The day of entry and the day of exit both count.
Since April 2026 the Entry/Exit System records each crossing at the border, so an overstay shows on the way out. The rule is set by the European Commission.
